Whoa!! A cow's head

Look what Evan found on his family farm!  A BIG, MASSIVE cow's head.  It even has a tooth that comes out.  We LOVED seeing this!  Thanks Evan

We have been incredibly lucky to have insects brought in for us to see.  Benji found a couple of praying mantis (and a grasshopper but we think the praying mantis ate the grasshopper!) and Leo found this gigantic dragonfly.

Player of the Day

Congratulations for being Player of the Day!  What a superstar!

Cicada Shells

Brendon has been so busy collecting cicada shells and we were excited that he brought them in to show us.  They stuck to his hands when he held them.  We watched a youtube clip on a cicada shedding it's shell.  Interesting!!

Butterfly.. butterfly

For Class Reporter this morning, Nikita brought in her butterfly that she got for Christmas.  We were so amazed by it.

Assembly Week 3

Hi everyone.  We are hosting Assembly tomorrow and our presenters are Wairangi, Vesper and Sophie M.  We will also be showing our name art to the school.  Please come along and support the Aroha kids.  Kick off at 2.15pm.

Caterpillar making

Yesterday at after school care, Erin-Renee made three caterpillars.  She even added some swan plant leaves to the big leaf she made.  How awesome!

Money, money, money

Riley's Dad has just come back from Samoa and Riley brought in some Samoan money to show us.  The gold one is two tala and the silver one is 10 sene.  Riley's Dad had to fly to Auckland and then to Samoa.

Moon Egg

Today Leo brought in a moon egg that he has at home.  He got it from a shop and keeps it in his room on his bed.  The egg changes colour to 'hot lava colour'.

Name Art

Today we spent some time completing our name art.  It was really tricky as we had to colour in each 'segment' and not go over the lines into another segment.  They look amazing.  Please come into the Pod to have a look and see if you can find the piece of art belonging to your child.

Gizmo

Amazing Holiday

Lachie and his family were lucky enough to spend a week in Fiji.  What an exciting time they had.  Thanks for sharing your photos with us Lachie.

The Treaty of Waitangi

Today we have been learning about the Treaty of Waitangi and the significance and relevance of it to us.  We are very thankful to be having a holiday on Monday for this special occasion.  Look at us working hard on our Treaty of Waitangi booklets.

Find someone who..

We had a great time getting to know each other today with an awesome 'find someone who..' activity.  We had to find someone who liked cucumber, someone who can tie shoes, someone who has a pet just to name a few!
