Comic Strip

One of the activities under the Word Wizard Station is working with someone to create a comic strip.  Look at the hard work that Vesper and Meila have put into their comic strip.  Doesn't it look awesome!?

Zero Waste

We loved learning how we can turn some of our recycling into games.  We loved trying the games out even more!

Safety First

We were lucky enough to have Ronald McDonald come to visit us today to teach us about road safety.  We learnt that we have to stop, look and listen when crossing the road and to use a pedestrian crossing if possible.  We also learnt we have to make our seatbelt go click every time we get in the car and that we need to walk down the path on the side closest to the houses.

Ronald McDonald was so funny and we are super happy that he found his missing sock.

Class Mascots and Class Reporter

Hey everyone

Just to clarify...  the class mascot that your child gets for receiving the Values Certificate at Assembly (Edward Bear, Roly Dog and Humphrey Bear) is yours until Friday.  It must be brought back Friday morning at the latest so that it can go to the next recipient.

The Class Reporter book, needs to come back the following day.  Please do not make this a major project - that's not the purpose.  Your child has about 5 minutes to share their item  / news after roll call.  If you require more time, please bring back the Class Reporter book anyway so the next child can take it home.

Just a tip... It might be good to have an idea of what you are going to share and put in the Class Reporters book so it's not a big issue when you child does bring the book home.

Marking of work

Hi everyone,

Just wanted to write a post regarding the marking of work in your child's book.  There are certain activities that the children must have marked and signed off (like Wordopoly and follow up activities that the teacher has given them) and there are other activities that the children can choose to do which don't necessarily need to be marked off.

Please be aware that there will be worksheets and activities glued into their Maths books and Reading books that aren't marked.  Don't get concerned about this as we may look over the work but not mark it.  Our focus is on marking the teaching work not the complimentary activities.

Poetry Books

The following poetry books are at home and need to be brought back to school please.

Movie Cards and Stickers

I have a whole lot of spare movie cards and stickers so if your child is collecting them and missing any, please get them to either write me a letter or an email saying which ones they would like. Remind them to use their manners and address the letter or email appropriately (with the date, To Miss Sharland etc)

Reading Time

We had a great Reading time today choosing whatever activity we wanted to do out of our stations.  There is the I Can station - fine motor skills, Word Wizard - word family work, comic strips and character descriptions and Tech Guru - recording our story using Explain Everything.

The smiles on our faces show how much we enjoyed ourselves.

A big happy 7th birthday to Amelia and Madison.  Amelia celebrates her birthday today and Madison celebrated hers on Tuesday.

Strand Station

We are learning our new stations for Maths and today Homeroom 9 learnt the Strand Station.  They did measuring, graphing, colouring.
