Tinkering Station

Thank you so much to everyone that donated items for the Tinkering Station.  Mr Jensen taught our learners about it this week and today they had their first proper go.  The conversations were just incredible and the wonderings and amazements were just delightful to see.

Remember - we will happily take anything off your hands that you don't want any more.

New Reading Stations

We have spent this week learning our new stations during Reading time.  Today was the day we could choose what activity we wanted to spend our time doing (once our Wordopoly was finished of course).

We had some mighty dedicated, hard workers today that's for sure!!

A new book order form has been handed out today.  Money and orders need to be by Mrs Durham in the office by Monday 15th August.

Hami's Kittens

It was an exciting day in Aroha Pod when Hami brought his kittens in for us.

They are adorable! Thank you Hami's mum for bringing them in for us.

So our really eager Beginning Teacher has done an amazing job at reflecting on his term. Unfortunately, he has posted it to the Aroha blog not his personal teaching blog.  (Yes - that is making me laugh right now).  The post has been deleted but you may have received it if you follow by email.

Recycled Creations

As you may have heard, Aroha Pod have been making creations out of recycled materials this week.

This involved the students planning, designing, resourcing and building their own creation in groups.

We have had some amazing results :) Here are a few videos of some groups using Explain Everything to talk about their creations.

A massive thank you to all the parents and Whanau that joined us for Learning Celebrations yesterday.  We had 69 adults attend and they represented 60 of our children.  This is beyond our expectations and just shows the support that your child (and us teachers) have from you.
